This past Labor Day weekend was a busy one for hospitals across the U.S. Expectant parents who were aware of the significance of the date September 9, 2009 (09/09/09) and who might have had a twinge of superstition kept their fingers crossed for a birth on this day.
Two babies have the honor of holding this special title all to themselves. Alexander Robert Orient was born in Grand Junction Colorado at St. Mary's Hospital to the proud parent's Deana and Patrick Orient. Alexander (whos name is also nine letters) was born 2 1/2 weeks premature and weighed 4 pounds and 13.7 ounces. Nine babies had been born at St. Mary's hospital but none hold the distinction of being born at 9:09.
Born over a thousand miles apart at NCH North Hospital in Naples Florida was a beautiful little girl named Savannah Howell. Savannah weighed in just shy of the 9 pounds at 8 pounds 4 ounces to the elated first time parents Caitlyn and Brandon Howell.
Both babies are healthy and happy and bringing joy to everyone around them. Maybe someday they can meet to share this wonderful time with eachother and see where this little bit of extra attention as taken them. |
